Across Europe, young people from fewer opportunities backgrounds often face significant barriers to social inclusion, with issues such as discrimination, exclusion, and limited access to opportunities impeding their personal and professional development. In this TC, we will have special attention to YWs from fewer opportunities backgrounds that face economic, social or geographical barriers. Sports have been widely recognized for their unparalleled potential for integration, social cohesion, and empowerment; nevertheless, many YWs lack a structured methodological approach to using them accordingly. Level the Field is designed to be an extensive training course for youth workers with innovative, practical, and sports-based methodologies for promoting inclusion, active citizenship, and youth participation. This 8-day TC will have 21 YWs (14 fewer opportunities YWs) from PT, EE, ES, RO, TR, HR, and FI for 48 hours (6 hours per day) of practical training in sports-based NFE methodologies. The project seeks to make YWs able to set up, run, and evaluate inclusive sports activities so that young people-from fewer opportunities backgrounds specially stand to benefit from meaningful structured experiences through sports which empower and possibly integrate barriers to equal opportunity. The project objectives are as follows: -To equip youth workers with structured methodologies to combat social exclusion and discrimination through sports based non-formal education tools -Provide youth workers with strengthened capacity for reaching out and engaging marginalized young people through practical strategies for bringing inclusion through sports alive in action. -Train youth workers in designing accessible and inclusive sports activities using role plays, simulations, case studies, and experiential learning methods. -To strengthen leadership, communication, and team working skills, thus equipping youth workers to develop safe and supportive learning environments for young people. -To enhance mentoring and facilitation skills, including conflict resolution techniques to promote teamwork and resilience in youth work contexts. -Organize and deliver an Inclusive Sports Tournament in Funchal where youth workers will apply the methodologies learnt during the course by working directly with local youth from disadvantaged backgrounds. -Hands-on learning about how to organize and facilitate sporting events and, thus, practice the art of ensuring that participants will be able to create an environment where teamwork, integration, and mutual respect are promoted through physical activity. -Promote sports as a methodology important in NFE and further resource the youth workers with skills that would empower them to talk on their future initiatives promoting sports as methods of youth work in their organizations. -Enhancing European youth organizations dealing with sports, inclusiveness, and youth development partnerships within Europe through transnational mobility and best practices exchange. -Encourage intercultural learning and collaboration, giving youth workers new professionals to build their professional network and explore other opportunities for Erasmus+ projects for continued cooperation. -Maximize sustainability of effects through usage of local workshops, awareness-raising campaigns and knowledge-sharing initiatives for dissemination of learning outcomes by participants. -Launch an digital campaign, targeting a minimum of 10,000 individuals across Europe, to advocate sports as tools of inclusion, rights-awareness, and youth empowerment. -Upload all original activities created within the project to SALTO Youth Toolbox for Trainers, thus exposing them for use by youth workers all over the EU and ensuring the long-term impact and replication of methodologies achieved from this project. Impact and Long-Term Sustainability The effects of Level the Field go far beyond the training course itself. It's going to give the YWs their skills, methodologies, and advocacy tools for developing sustainable sports-based inclusion initiatives in their communities. It will encourage the promotion of sports as a tool that can easily transform a chosen population into non-formal education. Hence, youth workers will have the capacity to integrate inclusive sports methodologies in their daily youth work. Informing a large audience of YWs, youth organizations, and policymakers through giant dissemination and scalability of project results through digital campaigns, local training sessions, and policy discussions will ensure that the lessons learned will last. Focused on practical application, leadership development with an emphasis on transnational collaboration, Level the Field answers the priorities of E+ programme along with the European Youth Work Agenda in terms of substantial and lasting social impact and ensures that youth workers are well equipped for inclusion, equality, and empowerment through sports.
