The Power-up! – Capacity Building to Multiply Opportunities for Young People project aims to strengthen the professional skills of youth workers by promoting innovation, digital transformation, and transnational cooperation in the youth sector. The primary objective is to ensure that these professionals develop practical tools, participatory methodologies, and innovative strategies to improve the quality of their work with young people in their territories. The project stems from the consolidated partnership between the Porto Metropolitan Area (AMP) and the Diputació de Barcelona, both involved in the Youth Monitor project, funded by Erasmus+ KA220. Youth Monitor highlighted the need to empower youth workers to transform concrete data into effective practices and evidence-based policies, providing more appropriate responses to young people's needs. Project Objectives Strengthen youth workers’ skills through practical training, participatory methodologies, and peer learning, aligned with European Youth Work standards. Promote the modernization of youth work by adopting digital tools and technological innovation, enhancing participation and digital communication with young people. Develop an inclusive and equitable approach, equipping youth workers to engage with young people from different backgrounds, including vulnerable groups in urban and rural areas. Foster intermunicipal and transnational collaboration, encouraging the creation of networks of youth workers and promoting the sharing of best practices in the sector. Align local practices with European youth strategies, ensuring an evidence-based approach focused on active participation, inclusion, and the personal development of young people. What We Aim to Achieve The Power-up! project aspires to: Empower youth workers with practical knowledge and transversal skills essential for designing and implementing more effective youth policies. Improve the quality of youth work in the municipalities of AMP and Diputació de Barcelona, facilitating the integration of innovative practices. Ensure young people have access to better opportunities for participation, inclusion, and personal development, benefiting from better-prepared and motivated professionals. Create a European community of practice among youth workers, strengthening collaboration across territories and fostering future partnerships. By focusing on continuous capacity building and innovation, Power-up! will contribute to a better-prepared, more inclusive, and dynamic youth sector, reinforcing the role of youth workers as agents of change in their territories, always aligned with the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027.
