Objectives

The increasing movement of people from rural to urban areas is creating a growing gap between young individuals and their rural heritage. This transition often leads to a loss of ancestral wisdom and care for the environment. "SincronSustenabil," a project aligned with the objectives of international bodies like the EU and UN, seeks to reestablish this connection. The project emphasizes eco-conscious living and proactive involvement in rural communities, incorporating adventure-based activities. Essentially, this is a Youth Exchange (YE) project focusing on engaging young people in eco-friendly practices and participation in rural areas through outdoor adventures. The primary goal is to aid in the revitalization of rural areas and endorse sustainable growth. The activities planned include adventure sports, camping, hikes, and educational experiences related to rural customs. This project is particularly designed to address issues that rural youth face and aims to mitigate the adverse impacts of youth migration from rural areas. Grounded in important literary references, the project strives to offer life-changing experiences to rural youth, reconnecting them with their local surroundings and heritage."SincronSustenabil" is initiated to lessen the divide between rural youth and their origins, fostering a strong bond and sense of duty towards their local environment and traditions. The project goals, from a youth work practice perspective, include The project aims to involve a total of 42 participants (7 per country) and 6 group leaders in direct mobility activities. Beyond these participants, we expect a further 200 indirect beneficiaries through postmobility activities, workshops and follow-up sessions in their local communities. The distinction between direct and indirect beneficiaries ensures a realistic and scalable impact. The selection process will be structured in multiple phases to ensure fairness, transparency, and inclusiveness. The process will include: Application submission – Open to all eligible youth from the participating countries. Screening phase – A selection team (including partner organization representatives) will review applications. Selection criteria – Candidates will be assessed based on: Residency in rural areas (proof required through local verification). Interest and motivation in sustainability and environmental issues. Previous engagement in community actions (not mandatory but preferred). Final selection and notification – The final list of selected participants will be published, and all applicants will receive feedback. Collaborating with six local communities, organizations, and environmental specialists within the initial six months of the project. Launching an environmental education program will enhance understanding of local biodiversity and the importance of its preservation. Continuously evaluating the impact of the project on the youths' attitudes and behaviors towards sustainable living and active participation in their communities. Disseminating the project's findings and insights through various channels to ensure the lessons learned are shared within two months after the project's end.
