Objectives

The VOLUNTEER for GREEN PLANET project was born out of the enthusiasm of our volunteers, evident both in internal discussions within the association and in surveys regarding interest in climate change and environmental protection. Based on the identified needs, the project partners decided that this youth exchange would be carried out through non-formal education methods, providing participants with the opportunity to acquire practical environmental skills, engage in volunteer activities, and transform vulnerability into resilience, becoming active agents in addressing climate change issues. The aim of the project was to create a non-discriminatory framework, based on non-formal education, that would foster sustainable behavior towards environmental quality among young people with and without fewer opportunities, increase their responsible engagement as European citizens in volunteer activities for environmental protection, and promote inclusion and equal opportunities. The objectives of the project were: 1. To raise awareness of the need for environmental protection among 45 participants from five countries through interactive non-formal activities carried out over 12 days. 2. To equip participants with a set of specific competences for developing sustainable behavior towards the environment, using Role Play, Sociodrama, Green Labyrinth, and Mindmapping in an ecological context, for 44 participants from five countries over 12 days. 3. To promote inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunities through intercultural activities and non-formal education that encourage tolerance and respect, for 45 participants from five countries over 8 months. 4. To develop civic competences necessary for engaging in volunteer actions for environmental protection among 40 young people from five countries through practical activities conducted over 8 months. By achieving these objectives, the project aimed to provide practical and theoretical skills in environmental protection, stimulate active involvement of young people in their communities, and create a lasting impact on eco-social behaviors and long-term quality of life.
