Objectives

‘Youth Lens: Empowering Rural Youth through Photovoice’ was a YE aimed at supporting rural youth and youth rural workers in observing, understanding, analysing and raising awareness of existing social rural problems, using Photovoice and other participatory methods. Our aim was to engage 28 young people in interesting and useful activities, helping them develop their skills and knowledge on rural problems, and empower them to ask for the lives they deserve. The project lasted between the 1st of July 2025 and 30 April 2026 (10 months), and will involve volunteers and beneficiaries of four European NGOs: - Active Be Cicleta- Romania - Fundacja 108 - Poland - Over the sea - Italy - Asociación Litu - Spain Through internal talks, we assessed that offering visibility to social struggles is the first step in solving them. Thus, we needed to empower the rural youth to show the struggles they are facing, and to engage with other local stakeholders. The objectives of this project are: 1. To increase awareness about rural social problems and improve knowledge for understanding these problems, using Photovoice and other non-formal methods. 2. To help young people develop their skills for identifying, analysing and proposing solutions to social rural problems, over the course of 10 months, using participatory non-formal methods (Photovoice, Debate, Community Based System Dynamics). 3. Empower and motivate at least 18 participants to actively engage in the civic life of their rural communities, becoming agents of positive change by applying the knowledge and skills gained through the project.
