Objectives

Our objective is to give the participants the facts we are facing in the light of climate change, while also equipping them with methods to face the resulting anxiety. After the project ended, they will be able to use these techniques autonomously and can effectively go into action and support their standpoint with facts. Another main objective was to show sustainable approaches for life, which will help them implement appropriate improvements in their daily life and become active in their local community, thereby multiplying the effect of positive change. We also had the aim to show them a viable perspective of life in the countryside, as an alternative to big city life in a stressful and unhealthy environment. We have an ageing population and therefore we needed to offer young people a perspective of a sustainable, happy life in the countryside by giving them real life examples. Therefore, our objectives are closely aligned to the possibilities the place and the experience our organisation has to offer in this regard. The project will introduce the participants to an off-grid lifestyle that has a low impact on the environment. It will show that a life in a rural environment is not only possible, but -with the use of the right techniques- it can be a lot more rewarding than expected, boosting the quality of personal life, as well as physical and psychological health. Participants will experience how empowering it is to be able to actively get involved in a community.
