The reason for implementing this project is to stimulate the active participation of young people in society as active citizens at local, national and European levels, to better understand the concept of EU citizenship and to make them aware of fake news in the online environment. The aim is to support young participants to manifest themselves as citizens actively involved in society by providing the necessary sources of information and instilling the democratic spirit by applying more attractive non-formal methods for this. Active European citizenship in young people can be developed by presenting the rights and obligations arising from it. The objectives are: 1.Promoting democracy at European level to a group of 40 young people from rural areas who will take part online at the EYE of the European Parliament in Strasbourg on 13 and 14 June 2025 where thousands of young people from across the EU can register online. https://youth.europa.eu/news/call-participants-european-youth-event-2025_en 2. Raising awareness among the 40 direct and 200 indirect young participants of national and European identity and understanding of the principles and participatory democracy in the EU. 3. Developing non-formal and game-based methods to facilitate the understanding of active citizenship by young people and to stimulate them to become real actors of social and political involvement within their nations and at EU level. 4. Inclusion and direct involvement in the project actions of 20 disadvantaged young people (5 from RO, PT, BG, SP). 5. In the long term, the information and attitudes developed by the project will reach 2,000 informed young people at EU level, we estimate that in each country, through the dissemination of the results of information on democracy, they will reach 500 young people at local, national level from the 4 partner countries.
