The project "Sustainable Youth Work: Non-formal Education Methods for Sustainability" aimed to develop the competencies of 25 youth workers from Romania, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland and Bulgaria in using non-formal education methods that can inspire young people to adopt more sustainable lifestyle choices. Project objectives: By the end of the project, the 25 participating youth workers were expected to: 1. Increase their knowledge and build a toolbox of at least 10 diverse non-formal methods that make complex ecological topics more accessible and engaging for young people. 2. Develop practical skills in using outdoor and experiential learning approaches in order to meaningfully involve youth in sustainability topics and help them connect their daily actions with environmental impact. 3. Strengthen their confidence and motivation to facilitate activities that encourage their teams and the young people they work with to make more sustainable choices. To achieve this aim, the project was built entirely on non-formal education, experiential learning and outdoor methods, including simulations, art-based techniques, escape games, educational games and collaborative group work. Participants also had the opportunity to create and test their own methods, work in intercultural teams, and engage with local youth through sustainability-focused activities.
