Objectives

By implementing this project, we do not want to offer young people with limited opportunities from Valcea County the chance to discover Europe, to develop themselves personally and to broaden their horizons through a non-formal learning experience. The young people involved come from rural and semi-urban communities, where access to educational and cultural opportunities is limited. We want to offer them through this initiative the chance to get out of their comfort zone, to experience European diversity directly and to learn essential skills for independent living. This project responds to a real need identified among young people in our communities, namely the lack of opportunities for mobility, development of personal autonomy and intercultural interaction. Most of the participants come from environments where support for personal development is reduced, and their parents and communities have a conservative approach, which limits access to experiences that can help them become more independent and better prepared for adult life. Also, geographical isolation and limited financial resources make participation in international programs very difficult. Through this project we do not propose to achieve three main objectives: 1. Increasing the level of self-confidence and developing personal autonomy skills for 5 young people aged 18-20 from Valcea County, by participating in a travel experience in 8 European cities and managing their own logistical process, over a period of 21 days. 2. Developing knowledge about cultural diversity and European heritage, by visiting historical and cultural monuments in selected countries (Slovakia, Austria, Slovenia, France, the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland) and participating in intercultural activities. 3. Creating intercultural links and expanding social networks at European level, through meetings and exchanges of ideas with young people from other European countries, promoting understanding of diversity and European values. From a work perspective, this project is important because it offers participants the opportunity to develop essential skills, such as organization and planning, budget management, adaptation and intercultural communication. By participating in this project, young people will learn to be more autonomous, to take responsibility and to overcome challenges they encounter in a new environment. Another important aspect is that their experience will not stop at the end of the journey. They will become ambassadors of European opportunities in their communities, sharing their experiences and encouraging other young people to participate in such initiatives. This action will have a multiplier effect, inspiring other young people with fewer opportunities to overcome their barriers and explore new development possibilities. In addition, through this project, the Euromove Association continues its mission to support young people to become active and informed citizens, facilitating access to European programs and developing autonomy and leadership skills among participants. The experience gained in this project will contribute to the development of new initiatives addressed to young people with fewer opportunities and to the strengthening of the network of organizations that promote inclusion through international mobility. This project is more than just a trip. It is a chance for these young people to discover their potential, to build their self-confidence and to understand that I too can be part of a Europe of opportunities, no matter where I come from.
