Objectives

Following a detailed analysis of the community, a number of needs have been identified among young people, especially those facing reduced opportunities. These fundamental gaps include: limited educational and professional opportunities due to financial constraints, the need to broaden personal horizons and intellectual and social development, deficiencies in language skills, particularly in the use of an internationally spoken foreign language, such as English, lack of involvement in community life and decision-making processes, as well as an acute need for intercultural development. The proposed project aims to primarily support young people in understanding and developing their personal and cultural identity, in line with European principles and values. This objective will be achieved through the organization of information workshops designed to promote fundamental rights, as well as the institutions of the European Union. Thus, young people will have the opportunity to become familiar with the values that underpin the European construction and better understand how these can influence their daily lives. - Development of organizational skills, independence, solidarity, and teamwork for 15 young people with fewer opportunities over a 12-month period. - Development of competencies regarding the functioning of the European Union for 15 young people with fewer opportunities over a 12-month period. - Facilitating interaction and understanding with young people from other cultures for 15 young people with fewer opportunities over a 12-month period. - Increasing the level of awareness of the Erasmus+ program, specifically Discover EU and Discover EU Inclusion actions, by 20% in the Roșiori de Vede community and surrounding areas over a 12-month period. Additionally, the project aims to facilitate the discovery and understanding of divergent mentalities and diverse cultures, in order to promote social inclusion. This will be achieved through interactive activities, such as board games and team-building activities (which will stimulate collaboration), and intercultural dialogue. Another essential aspect of the project is the development of key skills for young people, which will help them move beyond their comfort zone and become aware of their own potential. These competencies include: independence, solidarity, self-confidence, adaptability, self-discipline, critical thinking, emotional resilience, a growth mindset, and the ability to manage risks. These skills will be cultivated through self-awareness activities and practical tasks assigned to young people throughout the project. Another priority of the initiative is overcoming language barriers by facilitating communication with partner teams from various European countries. Thus, young people will have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with people from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds, which will contribute to improving their communication skills in a foreign language, as well as broadening their intercultural horizon. Moreover, the project aims to spark the interest of young people in actively engaging in community life and in continuously gathering relevant information for their personal and professional development. A significant part of the project will be represented by orientation activities in new places and the use of public transport, which will be organized in the form of educational trips, designed to develop autonomy and the ability to manage new situations. Throughout the project, participants will engage in workshops on project-related topics, intercultural dialogues, as well as visits to valuable tourist and cultural landmarks. They will also take part in a "treasure hunt" that will test their ability to handle challenging situations and their orientation skills in unfamiliar environments. Reflection sessions will offer young people the opportunity to assess their progress and consolidate the knowledge gained throughout the project. As a result of these mobility activities, the aim is to form a community of young people motivated to collaborate and support each other in their personal and professional development endeavors. At the same time, the goal is for them to become active promoters of European Union values and to contribute to the dissemination of the information gained to other community members, thus supporting the development of a more inclusive and informed society.
