Youth 2030 Movement in Sweden and SKUNK in Åland wish to collaborate and exchange perspectives, ideas, and knowledge about youth work and youth inclusion through a study visit. Although the organizations operate in different locations and in different ways, we face similar challenges and share a common view of young people as capable and competent. The purpose of the project is to strengthen our ability to conduct impactful work for youth inclusion and participation in democracy. The goals of the project are: 1. To develop the competencies of individual participants and our organizations through informal and non-formal learning, 2. To further develop the organizations’ existing methods and approaches, 3. To increase the influence and participation of young people in democracy at local, national, and international levels. The outcome of the project will be twofold: it will strengthen the youth workers participating in the project—their individual skills and competencies will grow through the exchange—and it will benefit the young people in Åland, who, by taking part in workshops, will have greater opportunities to participate directly in local democracy. In addition, the project will bolster general youth work in Sweden and Åland. Sharing expertise on methods and approaches, as well as opportunities for reflection, will contribute to a stronger cross-border movement.
