Objectives

The main goal of the y.e. is to equip young people with both practical and theoretical knowledge on how to live a healthy life. This means adopting a lifestyle that minimizes health issues, increases energy levels, improves physical fitness, and promotes longevity. However, since this goal is broad and somewhat intangible, we have broken it down into smaller, more specific, measurable, and achievable objectives based on the initial participant survey. These objectives reflect the most significant knowledge gaps, the main challenges in achieving a healthy lifestyle, and the participants' interests in learning about this topic. The key objectives we aim to achieve through the exchange have been divided into the following specific goals: ● increasing the proportion of participants who actively strive to live a healthy lifestyle, ● reducing the number of those who feel overwhelmed by the flood of information, ● boosting participants' confidence in their health knowledge, ● Empower young people to make healthier decisions regarding digital tools, their bodies, and the natural environment. Health is a crucial aspect of youth work, which takes a holistic approach to the development of young people, including their physical, mental, and social well-being. We intend to achieve these goals through a project culminating in a ten-day y. e., where each day will focus on one pillar of health. In a structured learning sequence, participants will explore topics such as mental health, digital health relationships, physical activity, nutrition, rest, the benefits of nature, and environmental conservation through reflection, theory, discussion, practical workshops, and final reflections. Each group has taken responsibility for one of these topics and designed a program for a specific day. This collaborative planning has resulted in a schedule that includes eight theoretical workshops, sixteen practical workshops, and five guest speakers, all professionals in various fields of health. Detailed descriptions of the methods can be found in the project schedule. Given the scale of the project, which involves 51 participants and seven partners, additional objectives arising from the needs of individuals and groups are also incorporated. One such goal is to introduce and evaluate the Self-Assessment Journal as a pilot project. This journal is directly linked to promoting personal reflection and self-assessment among young people. It will enable participants to track their progress, increase their awareness of a healthy lifestyle, and set goals for continuing their journey after the project. Such a journal serves as a crucial tool in youth work practice. Another goal is to co-create a project where each participant not only gains valuable insights but also has the opportunity to contribute. The exchange program is entirely decentralized, as we want young people to be active participants rather than passive recipients. This approach allows them to share their ideas, talents, and knowledge, fostering a sense of ownership over the project while enhancing their self-esteem and confidence. Furthermore, the exchange aims to increase the visibility of partners, attract volunteers, motivate existing members, and ensure the continuity of each group’s mission. Visibility, new energy, and volunteer motivation are essential for the sustainability and growth of our organizations, which provide young people with support and opportunities for personal development. Another key goal is to experience ten days in a healthy, inclusive, safe, and inspiring environment at one of SI's most beautiful locations. Creating a positive and supportive environment is essential in youth work, as safety, acceptance, and a space for growth enable young people to explore new ideas, develop their potential, and build confidence in their abilities. The project also aims to establish strong inter-organizational connections that will facilitate future collaborations. Building relationships between organizations is crucial for expanding opportunities for both young people and organizations, as it enhances access to resources and increases the potential for future projects. Additionally, the exchange provides a platform for sharing successful tools, improving youth work competencies, and gaining new inspiration for working with young people. Youth work is a dynamic field that constantly requires innovative approaches and methods. Our goal is to enhance the skills of youth workers, leading to improved programs for young people and a higher quality of youth work overall. Finally, a significant objective is to familiarize participants with the E+ program and youth exchanges in practice. Since the project involves seven organizations with varying levels of experience, we anticipate a rich exchange of knowledge. The two less experienced organizations aim to gain enough expertise to implement similar projects in their own communities in the future.
