Objectives

The "Mental Health in a Digital Era" project aims to provide a space for young people to explore the impact of digital technology on their mental health, promoting healthier digital habits and reconnection with nature. Through a combination of interactive activities, discussions and wellness practices such as mindfulness, yoga and outdoor exploration, the project seeks to raise awareness about the growing mental health challenges associated with technology and social media use. Each of the partnered organisations that will implement this project and collaborate, have a background in different expertise, that helps form the right harmony for the project’s activities. Together with the 2 facilitators from Terra Avanza and GEYC, the project will bring knowledge both in mindfulness and sustainability, achieving the objectives proposed. Moreover, as both ACTIVE and OTI Slovakia focus on topics such as outdoors activity and sport, they will bring the necessary knowledge and participants passionate about the topic of the project, but also in need of it, as we target the problem of overuse of digital platforms and social media. The objectives of the project are to: - Engage youth from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds, fostering a sense of belonging. - Facilitate meaningful interactions with nature to enhance environmental responsibility and mental well-being. - Equip participants with knowledge on sustainability and empower them to implement eco-friendly initiatives. - Strengthen teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving abilities through collaborative tasks. This project focuses on empowering young people to develop self-awareness about the pressures they face in the digital age while cultivating healthier coping strategies. By promoting an inclusive and interactive approach, the project also aims to create a safe space where young people feel supported in discussing mental health without stigma. By implementing this project, we aim to empower young people with the green skills, knowledge and confidence to navigate the digital landscape more mindfully while promoting a deeper connection with nature and their communities. The project will act with a butterfly effect, as the knowledge will not only remain in the participants group, but will also affect the close ones and by implementing the Outreach Activities in each local community, we believe that we will target more people with the knowledge required for the healthier digital habits and reconnection with nature.
