Objectives

Our initiative's main goal is to highlight the value of art as effective tools for reflection and improving mental health, particularly when it comes to the areas of photography and cinematography. Our goal is to provide youth with the information and abilities necessary to produce visually striking media that functions as an instrument for self-expression, emphasizing their distinct viewpoints on mental health, self-reflection and tracking their personal growth and transformation. The commitment of a thorough understanding of both psychology and digital media production is essential to our project. By combining both of these areas, we make sure that participants not only understand why it's important to deal with emotions with compassion, but also gain the technical skills necessary to turn their ideas and emotions into visually appealing stories. By helping our participants to efficiently navigate their emotions effectively and produce a visual journal that captures important moments and serves as a reflective tool for future personal development, the project hopes to empower youth. Our goal is to create a creative and welcoming environment where individuals feel free to use the tools they have learned to openly express their ideas, beliefs, and feelings. The project will promote open dialogue in which participants will be able share coping strategies and personal experiences related to the project's theme, demonstrating the transformational potential of art in overcoming emotional obstacles. The curriculum also seeks to educate participants on the potential for digital media to either explain or distort information, as well as how it can affect a variety of global events. By using this diverse approach, we intend to give a comprehensive understanding of the beneficial effects that photography and cinematography can have on mental health, promoting reflection and young people's personal growth.
