Project Title: Gamification for Inclusive Leadership Why this project: There is a growing need for innovative and engaging methods in youth work to address the challenges faced by young people, especially those from marginalized communities. Many youth workers lack the tools to foster leadership skills effectively, especially when dealing with individuals facing economic hardships, broken families, cultural barriers, or migration-related difficulties. Gamification and innovative educational methods are proven to enhance engagement, motivation, and learning outcomes. By equipping youth workers with these techniques, this project aims to address the gap in their skills, enabling them to empower young people to become leaders and active participants in society. Leadership development among marginalized youth is critical for their integration, personal growth, and ability to contribute positively to their communities. Main Goal To empower youth workers with gamification techniques and innovative educational methods, enabling them to foster leadership skills among young people, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds. Objectives - Enhance Competence: Provide youth workers with the knowledge and tools to effectively use gamification in their practice. - Foster Leadership: Equip participants with strategies to develop leadership skills in young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. - Promote Inclusion: Build capacity among youth workers to engage marginalized youth through creative and inclusive approaches. - Develop Resources: Co-create a comprehensive Training Guide titled "Gamification for Leadership Development" to serve as a resource for youth workers across Europe. - Encourage Collaboration: Establish a network among youth workers from Slovakia, Armenia, Slovenia, and Georgia to foster long-term cooperation and idea-sharing. - Increase Impact: Inspire youth workers to integrate non-formal learning methods in their programs to enhance learning outcomes and leadership development. Details of the Training Course: Location: Yerevan, Armenia Dates: January 11–20, 2026 Participants: - 34 youth workers from Slovakia, Armenia, Slovenia, and Georgia - 5 trainers - 1 accompanying person Total Number of Participants: 40 Importance of Involving Youth Workers and Leaders from Disadvantaged Backgrounds: Involving youth workers and leaders from disadvantaged backgrounds is essential for the project’s impact and inclusivity. These individuals often bring firsthand experience of the challenges faced by marginalized communities, such as: - Economic hardships and poverty - Broken or dysfunctional family environments - Migration and cultural integration difficulties Their participation ensures that the methods and tools developed during the project are practical, culturally sensitive, and relatable to the target groups. Additionally, empowering these youth workers creates role models for marginalized young people, demonstrating that leadership and success are achievable despite personal challenges. Key Output: Training Guide "Gamification for Leadership Development" This guide will provide youth workers with practical tools, game templates, and methodologies to foster leadership skills. It will include case studies, step-by-step instructions, and tips for implementing gamification with diverse youth groups. Non-Formal Learning Methods The project will utilize a variety of non-formal learning methods to ensure participant engagement and effective learning: - Gamification Workshops: Hands-on sessions where participants experience and design gamified activities. - Role-Playing: Simulations and scenarios to practice leadership and problem-solving skills. - Group Discussions: Collaborative brainstorming and sharing of best practices. - Creative Tasks: Designing games and activities tailored to leadership development. - Outdoor Challenges: Team-building exercises to illustrate the principles of leadership and inclusion. - Storytelling: Sharing experiences to foster empathy and understanding among participants. - Peer Learning: Encouraging participants to learn from one another’s experiences and expertise. - Reflection Sessions: Guided reflection to consolidate learning and evaluate personal growth.
