Objectives

By implementing Green Journeys, we aim to achieve several key outcomes that will significantly impact the lives of young people, particularly those with fewer opportunities. Our primary goal is to empower these young participants by equipping them with essential skills, developing social inclusion, and promoting active citizenship. These objectives are designed to address the specific challenges that many young people face today and to provide them with the tools they need to succeed both personally and professionally. One of the main objectives of our project is to enhance the digital literacy and competence of the participants. In today’s digital age, having strong digital skills is crucial for accessing education, employment, and information. Many young people with fewer opportunities may lack these skills, putting them at a disadvantage. Through targeted training and hands-on experience, we aim to bridge this digital divide, ensuring that participants can confidently navigate the digital world. By improving their digital literacy, we will better prepare them for the modern labor market and increase their employability, giving them a stronger foundation for their future careers. Another important objective of our project is to develop social inclusion and develop essential soft skills among participants. Many of the young people we aim to support come from backgrounds where they face social, economic, or cultural barriers that limit their opportunities for personal and professional growth. Our project will create an inclusive environment where participants can engage in group activities, workshops, and peer collaboration. These activities will focus on building teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills, which are critical for success in any setting. By enhancing these soft skills, we hope to improve participants’ social mobility and help them feel more connected and confident in their communities and beyond. We also aim to promote intercultural understanding and a sense of European identity among participants. Traveling across Europe and interacting with peers from different backgrounds will expose participants to diverse cultures, languages, and perspectives. The experience will help them build tolerance, respect, and a wider view of the world, which are important for being active citizens in a diverse society. By developing a sense of belonging to the larger European community, we hope participants will recognize their role in contributing to and benefiting from Europe’s diversity and unity. The intercultural experience will enrich their personal lives and motivate them to join future European initiatives and programs. Finally, our project aims to raise awareness of environmental sustainability and encourage participants to adopt sustainable practices. As they travel and learn about different parts of Europe, participants will be introduced to eco-friendly practices and the importance of protecting the environment. We will incorporate sustainability-focused activities, such as visits to eco- friendly communities and green businesses, to inspire participants to think critically about their impact on the planet. By promoting sustainability, we hope to instill long-lasting values in participants, empowering them to advocate for and practice environmental responsibility in their daily lives. This objective aligns with the broader goals of developing a more sustainable and responsible generation of young Europeans.
