Objectives

The main goal of the StarScape: Lights Off, Stars On project is to raise awareness among young people about environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, and light pollution while encouraging them to become active citizens who contribute to social change. The project aims to enhance young people's environmental consciousness, leadership, critical thinking, and digital literacy skills, supporting their personal and professional development. From the perspective of youth work practice, the project's key objectives are: Raising environmental awareness and consciousness: Providing young people with knowledge about light pollution, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability to help them become more environmentally responsible individuals. Encouraging active participation among young people: Engaging youth in local and international environmental initiatives to foster a sense of social responsibility and provide them with opportunities for cross-cultural cooperation under Erasmus+. Enhancing participation in non-formal learning processes: Facilitating interactive workshops, field studies, and community activities throughout the project to ensure that young people experience and engage with non-formal education methods. Developing leadership and social skills: Helping young participants improve their communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and project management skills, supporting their ability to take on more active roles in societal change. Using digital tools and non-formal learning methods for awareness-raising: Incorporating social media campaigns, digital content creation, and web-based educational materials into the project to enhance young people's digital literacy skills and enable them to effectively use technology in awareness-raising initiatives. Familiarizing young people with Erasmus+ opportunities: Informing participants about Erasmus+ programs to encourage their participation in future projects and to promote youth mobility and international collaboration. Through these objectives, the StarScape: Lights Off, Stars On project seeks to empower young people by increasing their environmental awareness and fostering active citizenship, enabling them to create sustainable change on both individual and societal levels.
