Objectives

One of the fundamental goals of our project is to raise awareness among young people about earthquake preparedness and natural disasters. In this context, we aim to create general awareness in the community through the training sessions, seminars, and events we organize. It is crucial for young people not only to gain knowledge but also to learn how to apply that knowledge, which is vital for enhancing societal resilience. We aim to provide comprehensive informative training on natural disaster preparedness. We will organize workshops and training sessions to inform about earthquakes and other potential disasters and teach the necessary precautions to be taken before and after these events. This will enable individuals and families to become more resilient to disasters, thereby contributing to increased societal safety. Emphasizing the importance of volunteer work is a priority in our project, and we encourage active participation in such activities among young people. By nurturing young individuals to become volunteers who provide support in local communities, we will help them develop a sense of social responsibility. Through volunteering activities, young people will have the opportunity to make a significant difference at both individual and societal levels. In this project, we want to empower young people to take leadership roles in preparing their communities for disasters. Developing a spirit of solidarity and cooperation within the community will contribute to making the community stronger not just during disaster situations, but also in everyday life. In this sense, we aim to strengthen the culture of solidarity and cooperation through collaboration with local citizens. Increasing cultural awareness and fostering international cooperation by working collaboratively with young people from different cultures are significant objectives for us. By emphasizing cultural diversity, the project will help participating youth gain a global perspective by sharing disaster management approaches and experiences from different countries. Through Erasmus+ projects, we plan to ensure the sustainability of our project by collaborating with local organizations. Strengthening our communication with local stakeholders to ensure that educational and awareness-raising activities continue is one of our priorities. In this way, we aim to provide lasting benefits to the participants and the community. Educating children about natural disasters through their families and disseminating this information widely within the family environment are vital parts of our project. By teaching parents how to approach their children on these issues, we aspire to prepare the younger generation for natural disasters, instilling this awareness for the future. Highlighting the importance of nature conservation and reducing environmental risks will help raise awareness among young people regarding environmental issues. In this context, we aim to involve young people more in environmental protection activities by specifically emphasizing the reduction of risks associated with natural events such as landslides and floods. Teaching young people how to conduct risk analysis is also of great importance in our project. By evaluating the potential impacts of natural disasters and equipping them with the skills to conduct risk assessments in their communities, we believe this will be a crucial step for their future leadership roles. Developing these skills is seen as a critical strategy for enhancing community resilience. Ensuring the continuity of training and preparedness efforts regarding natural disasters in communities through project activities will allow participants to take active roles in these processes. The sustainability of trainings and activities will be achieved through practical applications of the information shared and participation from the local community. From the perspective of youth work practice, our project adopts an approach that encourages not only the transmission of information but also active participation and the spirit of leadership. By involving young people in the project, they will not only discover their own potential but also take on a proactive role in disaster management in their communities. During the project, we aim to provide young people with practical experiences through interactive trainings, workshops, and social events. Additionally, we seek to cultivate leaders who make a difference in society through volunteer projects, reflecting the significance we place on developing young people's social responsibility. In this way, we aim to position young people as active agents of change and empower them to play a leading role in seeking solutions to social issues.
