Media literacy and tackling disinformationCultural heritage

Objectives

This project aims to create a sustainable and concrete impact in the field of youth work by equipping youth workers with competencies in digital literacy, native language awareness, and cultural heritage preservation. Analyzing the effects of digitalization on language use, raising awareness among youth workers on this issue, and enabling young people to receive guidance on conscious language use are among our primary objectives. Within the scope of the project, youth workers will practically learn how language evolves in the digital world, how social media platforms influence language, and how to develop strategies to counteract these changes. Throughout this process, youth workers will enhance their media literacy skills, develop critical thinking abilities, and gain awareness of digital disinformation. As a result, they will be able to provide more effective guidance in their daily work with young people, produce content that promotes native language awareness, and contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage. One of the key goals of the project is to improve youth workers' ability to provide guidance on conscious language use in social media and digital platforms. The project will ensure that language used in digital environments is analyzed, methods for producing conscious content are determined, and strategies encouraging young people to take an active role in this process are developed. Youth workers will receive training on detecting digital disinformation and protecting native language awareness, enabling them to apply this knowledge in the field through activities with young people. Additionally, the project aims to increase youth workers' awareness of cultural heritage preservation and develop tools to disseminate this knowledge. Through social media campaigns, materials promoting multilingual internet use, and awareness-raising workshops, youth workers will gain an understanding that language is not only a means of communication but also a carrier of identity and cultural heritage. The project objectives are as follows: - Strengthen youth workers' digital literacy skills and enhance their critical thinking abilities in social media. - Promote native language awareness to encourage young people to preserve their cultural heritage. - Equip youth workers with competencies in detecting disinformation, manipulation, and digital content analysis. - Support professionals working with young people in providing guidance on conscious language use. - Identify how language is changing in digital environments and develop strategies for preserving native language use. - Organize awareness-raising activities and produce educational materials on cultural heritage preservation. - Establish a sustainable learning model for youth workers within the Erasmus+ framework. By the end of the project, youth workers will have improved their competencies, strengthened their awareness of native language use, and integrated digital literacy into youth work practices. Following the training, participants are expected to disseminate the knowledge they have gained within their institutions and support young people in developing awareness of conscious media use. This process will enhance the quality of youth work and create a long-term impact on the preservation of native language awareness.
