Digitalization plays a very important role in the areas of renewable energy use and zero waste management. Digital technologies contribute to the management of processes in these two areas in a more efficient, transparent and sustainable way. Digital solutions play a key role in the efficient use of resources such as energy and water, reducing carbon emissions and regulating waste management. in the report where the results of the research conducted with the participation of 17 thousand people from 17 countries were discussed, the participants considered digitalization as an effective solution in the fight against climate change. The proportion of those who believe that digitalization will be the main lever in mitigating the effects of climate change is 64% in the research, while this proportion has increased to 68% in Turkey. Moreover, 7 out of 10 people between the ages of 25-34 surveyed in 17 countries thought that digitalization will play a key role against global warming. It was announced at the World Economic Forum that thanks to the current applications of digital technologies, global emissions can be reduced by 15%. Taking all this into account, while the digital world is standing in front of us with all its reality, especially disadvantaged young people's lack of digital skills and lack of awareness of the existence of such digital technologies cause inequalities in the world. Therefore, it is an urgent need to provide all young people with digital skills and encourage practices aimed at protecting the environment in this context. For this reason, we have determined the purpose of our project to develop the skills of disadvantaged young people related to digital applications in renewable energy use and zero waste management and to contribute to the protection of the environment by changing behavior in these issues. When the organizations of the project partners conducting youth studies are examined, we see that they are developing new ideas, especially for disadvantaged young people living in rural areas with low socioeconomic levels, and trying to turn them into value for themselves and others. These young people also need leaders to guide them in acquiring knowledge and skills. Digitalization has an important place in enabling young people to participate more in society, compete better in the business world, and become more conscious and sensitive individuals about combating the environment and climate change. However, as the institutions involved in the project, in the studies we have carried out so far, young people; we realized that we could not support enough about what are the national and international digital practices on renewable energy use and zero waste management, how to develop the digital literacy skills that enable using these practices, what they should do to become more conscious and sensitive individuals in the fields of renewable energy use and zero waste management, and identified all these as common problems. When we investigated the reason for these deficiencies, we realized that we need to improve the competencies of our youth workers in the following areas: • Digital literacy in order to promote digital skill acquisition *Increasing the capacity of information about environmentally friendly digital applications that enable the use of renewable energy and zero waste and waste management •Digital shopping guides for the use of young people, the ability to create zero-waste shopping lists *Skill development for creating a digital manual containing recycling applications, energy saving tips, examples of good practices for young people and simple steps to save energy *Expanding the perspectives of institutions in the field of renewable energy use and zero waste and waste management on international studies through youth work and sharing examples of good practices We aim at capacity development in institutions in order to achieve all these goals and results. For this purpose, we plan to develop the youth employees of the institutions primarily on digitalization, mentoring and leadership issues. Thus, our main target audience, low socioeconomic level, living in rural areas, refugee or migrant status, sensitive to environmental protection, but limited access to opportunities offered for this, disadvantaged young people will be helped to digitalize in the field of renewable energy use and zero waste management, learn about environmentally friendly digital applications and become active participants in society. In the long term, it will also contribute to the fight against environment and climate change.
