The primary objective of our project is to provide comprehensive training on permaculture philosophy and practices to youth workers, promoting sustainable lifestyles and supporting healthy eating habits among young people. In alignment with this purpose, our project objectives are as follows: Enhancement of Youth Workers' Competencies To elevate youth workers' knowledge and skills in permaculture principles, ecological design, sustainable agriculture methods, and food forests. Participants will receive hands-on permaculture training in Sivas Cumhuriyet University's hobby gardens, experiencing nature-harmonious and sustainable living practices. This experiential learning will enable them to integrate acquired knowledge into their professional practice, encouraging youth to adopt environmentally conscious lifestyles. Advancement of Nutritional Knowledge To deepen youth workers' understanding of healthy nutrition, traditional food preparation techniques, and sustainable food systems. Under the guidance of Lecturer Bayram Altıntaş, participants will master traditional food preservation methods such as fermentation and dehydration, with a focus on seasonal local produce. They will gain awareness of the positive impacts of healthy nutrition on human health and environmental sustainability. Additionally, visits to digital health companies operating within Cumhuriyet Technopark will provide practical insights into digital health concepts, complementing our educational content. Intercultural Exchange Enhancement To facilitate knowledge and experience exchange among youth workers from diverse cultural backgrounds, strengthening intercultural dialogue. The project will unite participants from various countries, fostering cross-cultural learning in the context of permaculture and traditional food cultures. Participants will share sustainable living and nutritional practices from their respective communities, drawing inspiration from diverse perspectives. We will explore organically produced foods for winter preparation, incorporating permaculture philosophy and expert guidance on storage conditions and nutritional values. Methodological Development To enable youth workers to organize effective workshops and activities on permaculture and healthy nutrition using non-formal education methods. Participants will learn to design educational programs utilizing interactive and experiential learning techniques that engage and motivate young people. Resource Development and Dissemination To share and disseminate project outputs as open educational resources. A digital library containing training materials, permaculture implementation guides, traditional recipes, and healthy nutrition recommendations will be established. These resources will be accessible to a broader community of youth workers, raising awareness about permaculture and healthy nutrition. Network Development To establish long-term partnerships and collaborations centered on permaculture and healthy food systems among youth workers. Participants will be encouraged to develop joint projects with local communities, NGOs, and educational institutions for the dissemination of permaculture principles and youth support in healthy nutrition. Through these objectives, our project will contribute to young people's adoption of nature-harmonious, sustainable, and healthy lifestyles by positioning permaculture philosophy at the center of youth work. Youth workers will enhance young people's ecological awareness and foster respect for soil and living beings by transmitting permaculture's ethical values and practices. Furthermore, youth equipped with traditional and healthy nutrition knowledge will positively impact both individual and community health, as well as sustainable food systems. Thus, our project presents an innovative and transformative approach in youth work, focusing on permaculture and healthy nutrition.
