Objectives

The main reason for this project is based on an important fact that the Youth Programme and previous youth projects have taught us: taking advantage of the opportunities offered by such programs can be quite challenging for some young people. Many young people cannot participate in these programs due to various reasons such as socioeconomic deficiencies, experiences of discrimination due to belonging to minority groups, living in disadvantaged or remote areas. In addition, young people with physical, mental or social disabilities also face additional difficulties in this process. One in every seven people in the world has a different disability. However, this rate cannot be achieved among young people who benefit from the Youth Programme. For this reason, as an association, we want to carry out this project in order to support and encourage youth workers to create international mixed-ability projects, that is, projects that include young people with and without disabilities. Many NGOs in our country and in Europe define themselves by saying that they carry out a wide range of activities on behalf of youth and describe themselves as inclusive organizations. According to the European Statistical Institute EuroStat data (2022), 15% of European Union citizens have some form of disability. An average estimate would be that 4 out of 100 people have cognitive/mental disabilities, 4 physical disabilities, 4 sensory disabilities and 3 other disabilities. At this point, one might ask: is one in every 7 young people in youth organisations disabled? If not, why aren’t these young people with disabilities there? We hope to inspire youth workers by ensuring that some young people with disabilities are included in sports and cultural activities, especially artistic activities, organised by youth organisations. If we and the youth organisations operating in Europe are “serious” youth workers, then being inclusive and ensuring the participation of all young people, including the 15% of the population with disabilities, in your activities is part of our duty. In our project “No Barriers, No Borders”, we aim to guide young people by offering concrete tips for youth workers and project organisers (disabled or not!) to make mixed-ability projects easier. The specific objectives of our project are to prepare a resource guide for mixed-ability workshops and projects called "No Barriers, No Borders" as a concrete product after the project. With these project activities and outputs; -To develop the capacities of partner organizations involved in our project to build more harmonious, inclusive, inclusive and peaceful communities, -To strengthen the network of youth organizations in line with the aim of recognizing and bringing together disabled and disabled youth with their non-disabled peers, -To promote high-quality youth work, -To strengthen the teaching skills of youth workers. The general objectives of our project on local, regional and international platforms are; a) To provide inspiration to youth workers by ensuring that some young people with disabilities are included in cultural activities, especially artistic activities, organized by organizations operating on behalf of youth, b) To ensure that disabled individuals also participate in projects carried out on behalf of the disabled, c) To ensure that they discover the inclusive and inclusive aspects of artistic activities.
