It was observed that the courthouse personnel working with children dragged into crime were introverted for a while, did not want to talk to anyone, did not want to talk to anyone, their daily life energy was below the normal level, and they experienced professional burnout and secondary trawma due to the trawma they experienced due to the loss of their first-degree relatives, relatives and friends after the Kahramanmaraş-centred earthquake on 06/02/2023 and also because they worked in the autopsy of the deceased. Upon the recommendation of the Ministry of Justice to prepare Erasmus+ projects, the Erasmus+ guide was analysed. In order to increase the motivation of youth workers, meetings were held with youth workers under the chairmanship of the Chief Public Prosecutor in line with the priorities of the Erasmus+ guide. The needs of youth workers were identified through Swot analysis. As a result of the analysis, it was understood that the biggest problem was experienced in the case of children dragged into crime, children's criminal behaviour became permanent, and the protective and preventive measures taken by youth workers were not effective. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that the measures given do not meet the needs of children, they do not have enough information to determine their needs, and they do not know the personal development stages of children. In addition, as a result of the Swot and problem analysis, during the interviews with the children dragged into crime, they stated that they perceived the protective and preventive measures in Law No. 5395 as punishment and that the measures did not meet their needs. They stated that the children who were dragged to crime who took these measures thought that they had served their punishment and that they were not informed that their criminal cases were continuing. 5395 Child Protection Law defines the age range of 12-18 as criminal capacity. At the time of the offence, the child's ability to perceive is important, not his/her actual age. The ability of the child to perceive the legal meaning and consequences of the act committed by the child, in other words, the ability to understand, comprehend, and the ability to direct the behaviour of the child and the ability to direct the behaviour of the child who comprehends the legal meaning and consequences of the act in line with his/her perception, protective and supportive measures are given to children dragged into crime until the end of the criminal proceedings. In the case of youth workers, it has been determined that they do not sufficiently comprehend the role and importance of the child in the legal process, they do not have sufficient knowledge of international legislation on children dragged into crime, they cannot look at the legal process from the child's perspective, they cannot evaluate the child within the restorative justice system, they do not have sufficient equipment, knowledge and skills regarding the psychological state and development of children, they cannot show sufficient sensitivity about the developmental stages of the child, especially the adolescence period, they cannot communicate effectively with children, most importantly, they do not develop empathy skills and they cannot break their prejudices against children who have made criminal behaviour a lifestyle.
