The most fundamental issue in the emergence of our project is that the concept of the European Green Deal and the program are not sufficiently known by young people. A study conducted by Plan International reveals that 82% of young people living in Europe do not know how their governments will combat environmental problems, confirming the most fundamental problem in the emergence of our project. The fact that young people do not know the scope of the European Green Deal (content, goals, policies, etc.) shows that more information needs to be provided on this issue. Another study conducted by Plan International also revealed that 98% of young people are affected by climate change and environmental problems and are concerned about this issue. This shows that young people need accurate and effective information about the environment. At this point, youth workers have an important role in providing this accurate information. The aim of our project, which sets out from these points, is to inform the youth workers who will participate in our project from Italy, Romania, Malta, Portugal, Bulgaria, Spain and Turkey about the European Green Deal and green transformation processes, to turn them into Green Deal Ambassadors and to create awareness in this field by ensuring that they transfer this information to the young people in their target audience through non-formal education-based training.
