The "AI for Good: Transforming Youth Work through AI" project is designed to address the increasing need for digital literacy and artificial intelligence (AI) competence among youth workers, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to integrate AI into their daily work, and enabling them to engage better with young people in an increasingly digital world. Given the rapid technological advancements and the European Union's emphasis on digital competence, this project aligns with the EU's Digital Compass goal to ensure that 80% of citizens possess basic digital skills by 2030. From the perspective of youth work practice, the project's objectives are multifaceted. It aims to enhance the digital competencies of youth workers and ensure they effectively incorporate AI into youth engagement strategies. By doing so, the project promotes social inclusion, innovation in youth work methodologies, and professional development. Our project aims to empower youth workers to guide young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, in navigating the digital economy and accessing new career opportunities. It is strategically designed to meet the needs of youth workers and organizations working with disadvantaged youth, particularly those facing economic, social, cultural, and geographical barriers. Our project, addressing digital literacy and the use of artificial intelligence seen as a critical need in the field of youth work, seeks to: - equip youth workers with the essential digital skills and knowledge of AI to navigate the evolving digital landscape effectively. - acknowledge the increasing importance of digital literacy and AI fluency, bridging the gap between young people's digital needs and the current competencies of youth workers. - strengthen youth workers in guiding young people to effectively use AI tools, thereby enhancing their employability and social participation. - promote digital skills among youth workers to contribute to a more inclusive society, thus supporting the EU's Digital Education Action Plan and the European Skills Agenda. - create a learning ecosystem that provides opportunities for youth workers to continuously develop their digital skills and AI literacy, ensuring they are equipped to meet the evolving needs of young people in the digital age. The project focuses on three key areas: digital youth work, core competency development, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and data. By enhancing the digital competencies of youth workers, it aims to improve youth work overall by enabling them to effectively use digital tools and AI in their activities with young people.
