With our project "Building Bridges - Discovering Europe," we aim to support 45 young people with migration and refugee backgrounds from Frankfurt am Main in experiencing Europe as their home and developing a strong European identity. From a youth work perspective, we pursue the central goal of sustainably strengthening the self-efficacy, intercultural competencies, and digital skills of our target group through accessible and inclusive travel experiences. The project creates equal opportunities for participation in European mobility programs and systematically removes financial, linguistic, and social barriers that normally exclude young people with fewer opportunities from such transformative experiences. Through the combination of intensive preparation, professional accompaniment, and structured follow-up, sustainable learning effects are created that extend far beyond the immediate travel experience. Our youth work objectives include promoting resilience and independence, reducing travel anxieties and cultural prejudices, and developing practical life skills for European living. In the long term, participants should act as multipliers in their communities and encourage other young people to participate in European education and mobility programs, thereby making a sustainable contribution to integration, social cohesion, and a more inclusive Europe.
