Objectives

The project “Building Confidence and Self-Belief” is designed as an inclusive initiative for SPS students (students receiving Special Educational Support) for whom it can make a significant difference. Its primary objectives are to strengthen independence, promote well-being, foster inclusion within the community, expand personal agency and awareness, enhance tolerance, push personal boundaries, and empower students to take risks and embrace challenges with confidence. The project is intended to serve as a personalized journey of growth and development for each participant. For SPS students, the trip aims to provide effective strategies for managing unpredictability that arises in life. Throughout the trip, participants will encounter situations that challenge them both individually and within group dynamics. The intention is that learning will occur in an informal, experiential setting. For instance, participants may be prompted to develop spontaneity, adaptability, and the ability to compromise when collaborating with fellow travelers. The project is also designed to foster the development of essential personal qualities, including attitude, interpersonal skills, empathy, emotional understanding and sharing, effective teamwork, clear and comprehensible communication, ownership and follow-through on tasks, trust-building in relationships, and demonstrating consideration and respect toward peers and others. By engaging with diverse perspectives and navigating unpredictable situations, participants will gain experiences that prepare them for future workplaces, personal life, and other contexts. These competencies are critical for cultivating positive and productive environments and can serve as decisive factors in professional and social settings. All activities, from planning and execution to reflection and evaluation, will be conducted collaboratively with fellow participants. The immersive and experiential nature of the trip provides opportunities that cannot be replicated within a traditional school setting, such as a classroom or other conventional environment.
