Objectives

Our project is to empower young people from rural areas in Thesprotia, particularly those with fewer opportunities, by providing them with international mobility experiences that foster personal growth, intercultural understanding, and practical learning about sustainability. From a youth work perspective, we aim to use non-formal learning methods to develop the competences, skills, and attitudes of participants in ways that formal education alone cannot achieve. Through the project, participants will enhance their awareness and knowledge of sustainability practices by engaging with green organisations and initiatives in Slovenia and Croatia, gaining insight into how environmental responsibility can be applied in everyday life and within their local communities. They will develop key competences and life skills, such as teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, digital literacy, communication, and intercultural understanding, through hands-on activities, workshops, and collaborative learning experiences. The project will foster social inclusion and equal opportunities by targeting youth from rural areas who may have limited access to international experiences, ensuring that they can participate on an equal footing with their peers. Furthermore, participants will be encouraged to engage actively with their communities by sharing their learning with peers, schools, and local organisations, promoting sustainable practices and youth participation at a local level. The mobility experiences will also strengthen European identity and awareness, helping young people connect with peers from other countries and understand shared European values in practice. Finally, the project will support personal development and future employability by validating competences through tools such as Youthpass and offering opportunities for reflection, mentoring, and recognition of the skills gained during the mobility.
