Objectives

CONNECTEU IV arises as a necessary response to the persistent barriers that hinder equal access to European mobility experiences for young people with fewer opportunities. Today, challenges related to social exclusion and economic precariousness continue to disproportionately affect youth living in rural or vulnerable contexts. Based on our previous experience, we have confirmed that an international experience can represent a turning point in the lives of these young people: it strengthens self-esteem, broadens their horizons, fosters meaningful connections, and sparks new motivation to shape their future. The impact has been so significant that the educational routes designed by Xano Channel under CONNECTEU II —such as The Green Route, The Culture Route, The Digital Route, among others— were later replicated and published by the European Commission itself on the official DiscoverEU website (https://youth.europa.eu/discovereu), confirming the quality, relevance, and transferability of our approach. Moreover, we have succeeded in establishing a genuine Erasmus spirit among youth in the Valencian Community, especially in the Ribera Alta region. Thanks to coordinated work with Punt Jove, schools, and local municipalities, a culture of active participation, openness to Europe, and civic engagement has flourished. Today, we have a strong network of collaboration with local public bodies who not only support the project but also actively demand it as an essential response to the needs of their youth. Young people who participated in previous editions now serve as role models for their peers, and dozens remain on waiting lists hoping to access this same life-changing opportunity. This project is therefore based on a clear mandate: to continue offering inclusive, structured educational mobility experiences as a real tool for personal, social, and community transformation. We pursue this goal through a comprehensive approach that combines emotional well-being, the development of life skills, and the construction of active European citizenship — fully aligned with the European Youth Goals, the EU Youth Strategy 2019–2027, and the core values of DiscoverEU. General Objective To empower rural young people with fewer opportunities through inclusive educational mobility experiences, strengthening their personal, emotional and civic development through the discovery of Europe, experiential learning, and the appropriation of key life competences within the framework of active European citizenship. Specific Objectives SO1. Holistic development of rural youth with fewer opportunities To facilitate access to mobility experiences for 20 rural young people aged 18 to 21, promoting the development of personal, social and civic competences through structured educational journeys across Europe, based on routes validated in previous editions of CONNECTEU. SO2. Strengthening emotional well-being and youth resilience To foster self-reflection, stress management and peer support skills through experiential workshops and non-formal activities conducted during the preparation, travel, and follow-up phases, empowering participants to face everyday challenges autonomously. SO3. Appropriation of the LifeComp framework and shared European identity To use intercultural dialogue, experiential learning and digital tools to address key dimensions of the European LifeComp framework — such as self-awareness, empathy, collaboration, active citizenship and lifelong learning. SO4. Promotion of a committed digital citizenship To encourage the creative and conscious use of digital technologies as tools for expression, reflection, and dissemination of lived experiences. Participants will share their learnings and emotions through accessible digital formats, thus reinforcing the project’s reach and its transformative impact in their home communities. Participant Profile In line with our commitment to equity and inclusion in KA1 and KA2 Erasmus+ projects, CONNECTEU IV will prioritise the participation of young people facing one or more of the following situations of vulnerability: - Young people who are unemployed or have dropped out of education early. - Young people with disabilities (physical, intellectual or sensory). - Young migrants or youth with a foreign background facing linguistic or cultural integration difficulties. - LGTBIQ+ youth who have experienced discrimination or isolation. - Young people with mental health challenges, addictions, or other exclusion-related conditions. - Youth from rural areas.
