This project was created with the intention of offering rural young people with fewer opportunities their first international experience — one that can become a turning point in their lives. Based on our experience in youth work, we aim to open a real and accessible door to Europe, enabling them to expand their comfort zones in a safe and guided way, overcome the feeling of isolation from their communities, and discover that they can be active members of society and fully exercise their role as European citizens. The main goal is not simply to provide a trip abroad, but to offer a transformative educational experience. To achieve this, we will use an innovative and experiential methodology that will turn the journey into a gamified adventure where each participant becomes the protagonist. Through challenges, puzzles, and activities, they will discover new places and realities while reflecting on their own. The entire learning process will be recorded in a Logbook, specifically designed to capture learning outcomes, emotions, and personal achievements, helping participants use this experience as a tool for empowerment and personal growth. The project will focus on exploring spaces connected to European historical and democratic memory and social and cultural diversity. These two themes are central because they directly connect with the reality of our participants: showing them that the exclusions they experience are not isolated or individual issues, but part of a broader historical and social process across Europe. They will also discover that diversity and democracy are the result of collective struggles in which they too can play an important role within their own communities. To bring this to life, we will visit museums, intercultural neighborhoods, and local organizations in France and Belgium, while also meeting young people and collectives engaged in similar struggles, reinforcing their sense of belonging and learning. From the perspective of youth work, our role will be to: - Strengthen participants’ self-esteem and confidence through daily reflection sessions that highlight achievements and learning - Support the development of key competences through the design of the gamification process and its challenges. - Promote inclusion and diversity as central values from the very beginning. - Facilitate connections between our group and other European collectives during the journey. - Break down barriers to accessing international experiences, broadening participants’ personal, educational, and social horizons. Specific objectives of the project: 1. Ensure equal access of rural young people with fewer opportunities to European educational programmes. 2. Provide participants with a meaningful first international experience. 3. Broaden young people’s perspectives for their future in the educational, social, and employment fields. 4. Highlight non-formal education and gamification as tools for learning and social inclusion 5. Foster active participation and a stronger sense of European citizenship. 6. Promote sustainable habits and the development of key competences among rural youth.
