Through this project, we want to empower young people from ethnic minority and Russian-speaking backgrounds in Latvia to feel more connected to their peers, their country, and the wider European community. The aim is to bridge language, cultural, and civic identity gaps that too often leave these young people feeling excluded from Latvian society and underrepresented in European youth programmes. Additionally, we aim to promote European values, and connect them with EU and Europe and build feeling of belonging. We want to create a safe and supportive learning environment where they can build confidence in using Latvian and English in real situations, experience intercultural exchange through travel and meaningful contact with young people across Europe, develop a stronger sense of European identity and belonging, learn to recognise and resist disinformation by gaining access to reliable information and engaging in constructive dialogue, feel inspired to participate in youth organisations, volunteering, and democratic life at local, national, and EU level. Ultimately, the project aims to support their personal growth, civic engagement, and active citizenship, helping them transition into adulthood with more opportunities, motivation, and tools to shape their future. From the youth work perspective, this project is about inclusion, empowerment, and participation. It gives young people who often feel disconnected the chance to be seen, to grow, and to actively shape their place in Latvia and Europe.
