The project “From Wood to Pixels” aims to foster creativity, cultural awareness, and practical skills among young people by comparing traditional crafts with modern creative professions in the digital world. Through experiential activities, we want to help young participants discover the value of manual work, develop respect for craft heritage, and understand the connection between the past and the present. From the perspective of youth work, we focus on: Building identity and pride – through the discovery of regional traditions and stories, Developing soft skills – such as teamwork, self-expression, communication, and responsibility, Enhancing inclusion and participation – by involving young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and actively engaging participants in the preparation and implementation of activities, Providing hands-on experience with non-formal learning – through craft workshops, collaborative creation, and guided reflection, Improving digital literacy – by linking traditional craftsmanship with modern tools (e.g. photography, video, digital design). The project creates a space where young people from Slovakia and the Czech Republic can inspire one another, explore their shared cultural roots, and build new friendships based on common values and a shared interest in things that have true, lasting value.
