With R:E:A:C:T we aim to empower young people to experience resilience not just as a concept, but as a skill they can live, practice and share. We want participants to gain confidence, strengthen mental health and develop core life skills such as communication, creativity, emotional regulation and teamwork, all within a supportive, inclusive and international environment. From a youth work perspective, the project’s objectives are to create a safe space where young people, including those facing social, economic, or migratory challenges, can explore their personal growth through theatre pedagogy and creative expression. We aim to foster intercultural understanding by connecting participants from diverse countries, backgrounds, and life experiences, helping them build empathy, collaboration and social responsibility. To recap, R:E:A:C:T sets the following objectives: • To foster emotional resilience in young people, especially the inclusion of those facing social, economic, or migratory challenges; • To boost core life skills: communication, emotional regulation, creativity and cooperation, through theatre-pedagogical workshops, scientific reflection and intercultural exchange; • To encourage intercultural understanding by creating mixed-nationality groups, co-creating a public performance and fostering peer-led reflection. • To incorporate scientific insights on resilience, provide participants with tools for stress management informed by psychology and embodied learning. • To generate tangible outputs: a shared theatre piece for both personal transformation and broader dissemination; • To develop a safe, international space, a community where every young person can experiment, fail, reflect and thrive in emotional solidarity. Beyond individual growth, the project seeks to inspire participants to translate what they learn into their communities, applying resilience practices, theatre techniques and intercultural skills in local follow-up activities. Ultimately, we want to cultivate a generation of young people who feel capable of navigating challenges, expressing themselves authentically, supporting others and contributing positively to both local and international communities.
