The project aims to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to become active agents of environmental sustainability and climate action. Through non-formal education methods, intercultural dialogue, and initiatives, the project fosters environmental awareness, strengthens youth engagement in sustainability efforts, and promotes a culture of responsibility toward the planet. The objectives are rooted in a needs analysis conducted through surveys and focus groups in partner countries, where youth identified gaps in ecological knowledge, lack of opportunities for practical engagement, and a need for stronger intercultural collaboration. Young people were directly involved in shaping the objectives during brainstorming meetings prior to the application, ensuring co-design and ownership of the project. Objectives from a Youth Work perspective (SMART, linked to needs and EU priorities): 1. Enhancing environmental awareness and literacy: - Specific: Educate participants on climate change, biodiversity loss, and sustainable resource use through interactive workshops and local study visits. - Measurable: At least 80% of participants demonstrate increased knowledge in post-exchange questionnaires compared to pre-exchange baselines. - Achievable and relevant: Builds on Erasmus+ Youth Exchange aims and EU Youth Goal #10 (Sustainable Green Europe). - Time-bound: Achieved during the 8-day exchange, with reinforced follow-up in 3 months. - Competences (ASK): Knowledge of ecological issues, skills in applying sustainable practices, attitudes of responsibility toward the environment. 2. Empowering young people to take action: - Specific: Equip participants with practical tools for designing and leading sustainability initiatives (e.g., recycling campaigns, green entrepreneurship ideas). - Measurable: Each national group will present one local action plan before departure; 70% will implement an initiative within 6 months. - Achievable and relevant: Responds to youth needs for practical activism opportunities, aligned with Erasmus+ and the EU Green Deal. - Time-bound: Plans finalized during the exchange; follow-up tracked within 6 months. - Competences (ASK): Skills in project planning, teamwork, leadership; knowledge of local activism methods; attitudes of initiative and resilience. 3. Fostering active citizenship and community engagement: - Specific: Inspire youth to advocate for sustainability in schools, youth councils, and community groups. - Measurable: At least 10 dissemination events or workshops are organized across partner countries within 3 months post-exchange. - Achievable and relevant: Directly responds to identified need for stronger youth participation in local decision-making. - Time-bound: Dissemination activities completed within 3 months after mobility. - Competences (ASK): Skills in public speaking and advocacy; attitudes of civic responsibility; knowledge of environmental policy frameworks. 4. Developing intercultural competences and cooperation: - Specific: Use intercultural learning to connect youth from six partner countries, sharing cultural approaches to sustainability. - Measurable: Mixed teams co-create at least 3 joint outputs (e.g., video campaigns, sustainable lifestyle guidelines) during the exchange. - Achievable and relevant: Aligns with EU Youth Goal #9 (Space and Participation for All) and Erasmus+ priority of inclusion. - Time-bound: Outputs delivered by the final day of the exchange. - Competences (ASK): Knowledge of diverse cultural approaches; skills in intercultural teamwork; attitudes of tolerance and solidarity. 5. Strengthening the capacity of youth workers and organizations: - Specific: Provide youth workers and leaders with innovative methods for environmental education and project management. - Measurable: At least 6 youth workers (one per partner) report improved ability to integrate sustainability into youth work, measured via evaluation forms. - Achievable and relevant: Supports the Erasmus+ Youth Quality standards and builds capacity of newcomers in the consortium. - Time-bound: Achieved during the project and reinforced in follow-up within 3 months. - Competences (ASK): Skills in facilitation and mentoring; knowledge of non-formal tools; attitudes of confidence in leading sustainability initiatives. Indicators and monitoring: - Pre and post-project questionnaires will measure knowledge gains and attitudinal shifts. - Daily reflection sessions and learning journals will track soft skills and behavioral changes. - Follow-up surveys (3 and 6 months) will measure community initiatives implemented and dissemination events completed. - Baseline: 40% of participants indicated in partner surveys that they lack opportunities to engage in sustainability projects; target: 80% report active involvement post-project.
