Objectives

This project has been developed out of the urgent need to support young people’s mental health and resilience in a rapidly changing world. Today, many young people face challenges such as social isolation, cultural barriers, economic uncertainty and the constant pressure of digital life. In addition to these, climate change, natural disasters and the traumas caused by such crises have also become significant barriers that threaten the mental wellbeing of young people. These factors deeply affect their sense of belonging and their ability to express themselves in a healthy way. Art, in both its digital and traditional forms, offers a creative and supportive approach to these issues by providing young people with a safe space to share their stories, explore their creativity and build connections across borders. By bringing together participants from Austria, Croatia, Poland, Greece, Turkey, Hungary and Latvia, the project will create an intercultural platform where mental health and wellbeing are addressed not through clinical methods, but through creative expression. The combination of digital tools such as graphic design, video and music with traditional forms like painting, photography and sculpture will allow participants to discover new skills, strengthen their self-confidence and enhance their social ties. In this way, young people will be able to see their differences not as barriers but as sources of creativity, and to build a shared understanding of the role of culture and art in personal growth. The decision to prioritize green travel reflects our responsibility to reduce the environmental impact of youth exchanges and to remind participants to consider sustainability as part of their daily choices. This perspective links wellbeing not only to individual and social dimensions, but also to the health of our planet, which is increasingly affected by the climate crisis and environmental challenges. The project will consist of seven working days and one travel day. A total of 35 young people will participate, 17 of whom are young people with fewer opportunities. The participation structure ensures equality, with four young people and one group leader from each country. In addition, one facilitator from Hungary will take part in the project. The identification of participants with fewer opportunities has been planned through consultations with project partners, with each organisation considering the needs of its own community when making the selection. In this way, the participant groups will reflect not only diversity, but also a strong commitment to social inclusion and environmental awareness. The project also aims to equip young people with key competences highlighted in the European Qualification Framework, such as digital skills, intercultural communication, sustainability awareness, entrepreneurship and citizenship. In full alignment with Erasmus+ priorities, inclusion and diversity, participation in democratic life, digital transformation and Green Europe awareness will be concretely implemented through this experience. At the end of the project, the exhibition, videos and digital outputs will be shared both locally and on Erasmus+ dissemination platforms, ensuring that the impact goes beyond the participants and reaches wider audiences. At the same time, Bianna Art Center and the partner organisations will strengthen their international cooperation and project management capacities, creating a foundation for more inclusive and innovative projects in the future.
