The project aims to give young people a better understanding of political processes by participating in a simulation game in a cross-border context, thereby improving their political education and perception of the European Union and its values. To teach participants how democracy works, the young people take on the roles of politicians and other actors who are actively involved in decision-making. They learn how different interests are negotiated and compromises are reached in a democracy. The project promotes European values such as openness, tolerance and diversity by iniciating participants to engage with the positions of others and find compromises in discussions and negotiations. The cross-border aspect of the simulation game highlights the importance of European cooperation and offers young people an insight into the European dimension of political decision-making. The simulation game shall reinforce democratic knowledge as well as life skills.
