The project aims to strengthen young people’s critical thinking and civic responsibility in the face of disinformation and rumors, while developing their social, digital, intercultural, and democratic skills through non-formal education methods. It seeks to enable them to understand, analyze, and deconstruct the mechanisms of rumors and fake news in order to foster responsible behaviors, solidarity, and respect for democratic values, both online and in everyday life. From the perspective of youth work practice: 1. Strengthening critical thinking and digital skills Encouraging young people to analyze sources, verify information, and question discourses, so that they can exercise their citizenship in an informed way and develop responsible digital reflexes. 2. Promoting living together and interculturality Creating spaces for dialogue, cooperation, and encounters between young people from different contexts (Belgium and La Réunion), in order to foster listening, respect for differences, conflict management, and the fight against stereotypes. 3. Stimulating youth participation and civic engagement Actively involving young people in both pedagogical activities (role-playing, moving debates, surveys, creative workshops) and in collective life (respecting schedules, maintaining shared spaces, sharing responsibilities). These experiences will encourage them to reflect on their role as information relays, future voters, and social actors, capable of contributing to a more democratic and supportive society. 4. Valuing creative productions and strengthening self-confidence Encouraging young people to express their ideas and highlight their learning through concrete productions (podcasts, fanzines, creative outputs). These achievements will strengthen their self-esteem and sense of competence, while serving as awareness-raising tools for their peers and local communities.
