Objectives

Mundus Miraculorum is part of Krinkel, the National Summer Camp of Chirojeugd Vlaanderen, which takes place every four years. It is intended for youth leaders and invites them to participate in a playful and enriching experience. The core objectives of Krinkel are: to create opportunities for all participants to play, to foster a welcoming and friendly atmosphere that feels safe, to lower barriers so that everyone feels included, and to motivate all young people in their youth work engagement. In addition, Krinkel strives to make its participants feel connected, inspired and filled with wonder. At Krinkel, we are the international campsite: Mundus Miraculorum. Mundus Miraculorum aligns with Krinkel's overall vision, but we take it one step further – in depth, more formative and in terms of crossing borders. With our own smaller campsite, Mundus Miraculorum offers a warm and inclusive place that brings together participants from all over Europe. We gather 50 youth workers from 11 European countries for a week in which international exchange, experiential learning, and competence-based training are at the core. We focus on the themes of search for meaning and youth well-being—two areas where (young) youth workers are eager to grow, and which are more relevant than ever in today’s rapidly changing society. Young people are growing up in an increasingly digital and complex world. This opens doors, but it also brings challenges: the pressure of social media, constant online presence, fragmented attention… all of which have a major impact on their (mental) well-being. Youth work offers the perfect environment to step away from this pressure for a while, to relax, and to discover who they are in the offline world. That is why it is essential that youth workers are equipped with tools to create meaningful encounters and to guide young people in their search for purpose, connection, and resilience. Throughout Mundus Miraculorum, participants will have fun, gain inspiration, learn a lot, and grow as youth workers. They will build strong bonds with each other and with youth work itself. They will return home as more resilient, engaged, and dynamic youth workers, ready to put their newly acquired knowledge, skills, and methods on meaning-making and youth well-being into practice. They bring back fresh ideas and motivation to their own (local) youth organizations, where they can inspire the youth workers of tomorrow and plant seeds for their organization’s mission and vision. Can you feel the magic in the air? We certainly do!
