Objectives

It is a youth exchange that unites young people from across Europe to restore nature and strengthen solidarity after the devastating 2025 wildfires in Cyprus. The project inspires participants to take meaningful action on climate change, reconnect with nature, and experience the power of collective environmental and social responsibility. By implementing this project, we aim to empower young people to become ecologically conscious, socially engaged, and active citizens who can shape a more sustainable and connected Europe. Through non-formal education, creative collaboration, and intercultural dialogue, participants will develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to make a real difference — locally and internationally. Main Objectives - Environmental Restoration - Replant trees, protect soil, and restore damaged ecosystems through hands-on activities. - Climate Awareness and Sustainability - Build practical knowledge about climate change, wildfire prevention, and sustainable living. - Youth Empowerment - Strengthen participants leadership, teamwork, and communication skills while boosting self-confidence and resilience. - Intercultural Dialogue and Inclusion - Create a safe, supportive space for young people from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, including 29 participants with fewer opportunities. - Active Citizenship - Inspire participants to become environmental ambassadors, organising local follow-up workshops, school talks, and awareness campaigns. - Digital Outputs and Visibility - Produce a digital booklet, short videos, and eco-art exhibitions to showcase results, promote sustainability, and engage broader audiences. - Long-Term Engagement - Strengthen partner organisations youth work practices and encourage further participation in Erasmus+ programmes. Approach and Youth Work Perspective The project is based on non-formal education and is designed to make learning practical, creative, and inclusive. Activities combine hands-on environmental restoration, personal growth, and intercultural exchange. - Fieldwork - Tree planting, soil care, and ecosystem recovery in wildfire-damaged areas. - Workshops and Reflection - Sessions on climate change, emotional resilience, and sustainable habits, supported by daily reflection circles for personal growth. - Creative Methods - Eco-art, storytelling, and video-making to help participants express emotions and share their impact. - Intercultural Learning - Cultural evenings and collaborative tasks that foster mutual understanding, respect, and unity in diversity. From a youth work perspective, the project provides a transformative learning experience in which young people move from awareness to action. It equips them with practical skills, emotional resilience, and leadership abilities, all while encouraging unity, inclusion, and active citizenship. Partner organisations will integrate the project's outcomes and methodologies into their existing youth activities, providing long-term benefits for both participants and local communities across Europe.
