Objectives

What we want to achieve with this project is simple but powerful: we want to break down the walls that stereotypes build around us. Too often we, as young people, feel judged by how we look, where we come from, what we believe in, or even what we dream about. These stereotypes create invisible barriers that limit our freedom and make us doubt our value. Through this exchange we want to face these barriers together, understand where they come from, and find ways to challenge them, so that we can live in societies where everyone feels respected and included. Our main objective is to promote tolerance, empathy and respect for diversity. We believe that the best way to learn is by experiencing, so the programme is full of non-formal education activities where we can step into someone else’s shoes, feel what exclusion means, and learn how inclusion can transform our groups. By sharing these moments, we grow closer and realise how much stronger we are when we accept differences instead of fearing them. We also want to raise awareness about stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination and their impact on society. Many of us are influenced by social media, school, or community pressures without even noticing. In this project we will take time to stop, reflect, and recognise how these patterns affect our lives. By unboxing stereotypes in different fields like gender, age, culture or body image, we learn to see beyond the labels. Another big goal is to develop our critical thinking and courage to challenge stereotypes actively. We don’t want to just talk about problems; we want to practice how to react when we hear a sexist joke, when we see discrimination, or when we feel pressured to follow the “normal way.” Through debates, role plays and creative tasks, we will train ourselves to speak up and take action. At the same time, this project is about intercultural dialogue and friendship. We are five countries coming together – Cyprus, Spain, Romania, Moldova and Armenia – and each of us brings unique stories, traditions and challenges. By living and working together, we learn not only about others but also about ourselves. This is the beauty of youth work: turning diversity into a learning opportunity. We also want to make sure that young people with fewer opportunities are included and empowered. Some of us come from rural areas, others face economic or social obstacles, some live with disabilities. In this project, everyone will have the chance to participate fully, to feel safe, and to be listened to. For us, inclusion is not just a word – it is the way we build our groups, our activities, and our friendships. Finally, we want this project to have a long-term effect. We aim to create a network of young people committed to inclusion. With Youthpass as our tool, we will reflect on our learning, carry new skills back home, and organise follow-up actions to inspire others. We see ourselves not only as participants in a ten-day exchange, but as young people who can become ambassadors of change in our communities. In short, our objectives are clear: to build empathy, challenge stereotypes, strengthen intercultural dialogue, and empower young people to stand up for inclusion. We believe that youth work gives us the tools to do this in a creative, participatory and meaningful way. By the end of this project, we will not only have lived an unforgettable experience, but we will also be ready to spread its impact far beyond our group, into our local realities and into Europe.
