The EmpowerHER Rural project aims to strengthen the role of young women from rural areas and enable them to become active agents of change within their communities. The project focuses on equipping participants with the necessary competences, mindset, and support structures to foster their empowerment and long-term engagement. From a youth work perspective, the project is specifically designed to support young people with fewer opportunities, particularly those facing gender-based, geographical, or socio-economic barriers. Through inclusive and non-formal learning environments, participants will develop leadership skills, entrepreneurial thinking, and sustainability awareness that will help them take meaningful action in their communities. Main Objectives of the Project 1. Developing Leadership Skills To enhance the self-confidence, sense of responsibility, and community engagement of young rural women through experiential learning, intercultural exchanges, and role model-based workshops. 2. Fostering an Entrepreneurial Mindset To introduce participants to basic business concepts, rural innovation models, and local enterprise initiatives, inspiring them to create their own community-based projects in their regions. 3. Promoting Environmental Awareness and Sustainability To encourage youth to explore green economy principles and integrate sustainability practices into community development initiatives. 4. Enhancing Intercultural Competence and European Identity To strengthen participants’ understanding of solidarity, diversity, and active citizenship through shared experiences with peers from other countries. 5. Bridging the Inclusion Gap To ensure the full participation of young people with fewer opportunities by providing tailored mentoring, mobility support, and targeted non-formal learning tools, fully aligned with the Erasmus+ Inclusion and Diversity Strategy. Ultimately, the EmpowerHER Rural project contributes to increasing the quality of youth work in rural contexts by developing inclusive, engaging, and replicable methods that support both personal growth and collective empowerment. Moreover, youth workers and group leaders involved in the project will gain hands-on experience in facilitating inclusive mobility projects and designing community-based educational activities tailored to the needs of marginalized groups.
