Objectives

The project Innovate Europe: From Sustainable Cities to Digital Opportunities is based on the real needs of young people, identified through surveys among more than 700 students and consultations with schools and communities. It is designed around youth work methods that combine non-formal education, active youth participation, and international cooperation. Main objectives of the project 1. Development of key competences of young people - Digital competences: participants will acquire practical skills in using modern technologies (3D print, digital presentations). - Environmental literacy: young people will learn the principles of sustainability and will be able to design concrete solutions for their communities. - Language and communication skills: English will be the working language of the project, helping participants to strengthen their expression, self-confidence, and presentation skills. 2. Support for social and intercultural competences - Teamwork: young people will be involved in mixed Czech–Austrian, Czech-Italian groups from the very beginning. - Buddy system: each participant will be paired with a peer from a partner country, which will support adaptation, reduce barriers, and build friendships. - Inclusion: the project deliberately involves young people with fewer opportunities, providing targeted support before, during, and after the mobility. 3. Strengthening active citizenship and participation - Participants will learn how to transfer project results into their communities through school workshops, community events, and online sharing. - Each participant will create a personal action plan to apply the experience in their daily life. - The project will encourage young people to become Erasmus+ ambassadors, inspiring their peers. 4. Personal and professional development - Participants will improve their self-confidence and public speaking skills through presentations to peers and communities. - They will learn to give and receive feedback, work with mistakes, and develop their creativity. - Thanks to the international experience, they will gain stronger prospects for education and employment. Contribution to youth work practice The project demonstrates how digital innovation, sustainability, and cultural heritage can be connected with non-formal education methods: - Reflection and self-assessment (daily reflection sessions, use of Youthpass). - Project-based learning (design of a sustainable city, creation of digital outputs). - Youth participation – participants are engaged already in the preparation phase, in activity design, and later in dissemination. - Intercultural learning – direct experience of different cultures and working methods. This approach ensures that the project not only addresses the actual needs of young people but also strengthens the quality and innovativeness of youth work in the Czech Republic, Austria, and Italy.
