Objectives

Across Europe, young people and youth workers face increasing pressure on their mental health due to climate crisis, economic uncertainty, and rapid technological changes such as digitalisation and artificial intelligence. These global challenges feel immediate and intensify anxiety, isolation, and loss of presence in daily life. Youth workers often lack accessible, preventive tools to respond to this reality, as mental health support remains either too theoretical or clinical. Our project addresses this gap by cultivating resilience, presence, and connection through two methodologies: applied improvisation, which builds adaptability and courage to face uncertainty, and embodiment, which grounds resilience in the body’s signals and practices. Together, they make positive mental health tangible in youth work, translating it into everyday habits that can be practiced and shared. Our objectives are to: - Equip 27 youth workers with embodied, practical tools that strengthen positive mental health in their personal and professional lives, and that can be transferred to the young people they work with. - Strengthen youth workers’ capacity to support young people in navigating rapid societal changes with resilience through applied improvisation and embodiment. - Create a European community of practice by connecting youth workers from 9 countries, facilitating exchange during and after the PDA through structured follow-up activities and shared platforms, ensuring ripple effects in their local contexts. - Reduce stigma around mental health in youth work by offering non-clinical, creative, and relational approaches that are preventive, joyful, and inclusive. We want to carry out this project because positive mental health is more than the absence of illness. It is about empowerment. It means learning to adapt to a world of constant change without being paralysed by it, and the ability to draw strength from small, everyday practices that build resilience, connection, and presence.
