Objectives

The project aims to strengthen the competences of youth workers from umbrella and municipal organisations in the Czech Republic, Ireland and Portugal in the fields of youth participation, RESILIENCE and community wellbeing. It addresses a gap in youth work: resilience is often reduced to individual aspects (such as mental health), while broader dimensions – including community resilience, volunteering, social cohesion and wellbeing – remain underexplored. Similar situation applies to HEALTH, which is perceived that is mostly formed by doctors and by healing illnesses, while in reality health is formed in schools, in leisure activities, environment, community life etc. By improving the practice of youth workers in these fields, the project directly enhances the quality of youth work and, ultimately, the wellbeing of young people. This is crucial, as today’s young people are those who will shape the functioning of their cities and societies in the future. Specific objectives are: 1. Provide youth workers with opportunities for peer learning and exchange of experiences across three national contexts in the field of participatory methods, resilience and wellbeing of youth in community perspectives. 2. Conduct a joint analysis of participatory and resilience tools and approaches, identifying their strengths and potential for adaptation in diverse contexts (urban/rural). 3. Build a strong foundation for long-term international cooperation and future piloting of innovative approaches in youth work.
