Objectives

The Mindful Youth Work Mosaic project is a training course that brings together youth workers from eight European countries to explore how mindfulness, yoga, and outdoor learning can strengthen both their own resilience and the well-being of the young people they support. Rooted in non-formal education, the project combines daily practice, experiential outdoor activities, and collaborative workshop design to create practical, transferable methods for youth work. By co-creating a Mosaic Toolbox, dissemination activities, and digital recognition tools, the project ensures that results are visible, shared, and sustainable beyond the training itself. Our objectives are: Strengthen youth workers’ own well-being and resilience. Through daily practice of yoga, mindfulness, and outdoor self-care activities, youth workers will gain practical tools to manage stress, prevent burnout, and maintain emotional balance. By the end of the training, at least 80% of participants will report greater confidence in handling stress in professional and personal contexts. Equip youth workers to integrate mindfulness and outdoor methods into their practice with young people. Participants will design, facilitate, and test at least four outdoor workshops (Outdoor Mosaic simulations), adapting simple techniques such as mindful walks, breathing exercises, or gratitude circles for use with their youth groups. Each youth worker will commit to teaching at least two of these practices to the young people they work with. Multiply impact through dissemination and organisational integration. Each national team will develop and implement a concrete dissemination plan, including at least one follow-up activity reaching a minimum of 20 young people per country. Results will be documented in the shared Mosaic Toolbox, Youthpass, and open badges, ensuring that methods and competences are recognised, transferable, and beneficial beyond the project’s lifetime. Through these objectives, the project strengthens professional competences, fosters innovation in youth work, and contributes to the European Youth Work Agenda by improving quality, recognition, and inclusion in youth work practices.
