The idea of the project "Youth against violence in sports" arose after organizing the Youth Exchange "Sport for social inclusion and gender equality" held by Ayedara in July 2024. This project utilized mixed sports as a tool to promote social inclusion. The project focused on combating marginalization and negative stereotypes, helping young people feel more integrated into society. Through interaction and exchange with people from different countries and cultures, the project fostered values such as respect, tolerance, and solidarity among young people, creating a sense of belonging to a European community. However, the project coincided with the Euro 2024 tournament, during which we witnessed firsthand how violence among fans has escalated during some of the matches played. For this reason, we decided to focus this new project on a youth exchange that will provide young people from different countries with the opportunity to share ideas on fostering non-violence, tolerance, and mutual understanding. The objectives of this project are: - To increase participants' knowledge about the causes and consequences of violence in sports, through thematic workshops, guided debates, and real-life examples. - To provide 32 young participants with practical tools in conflict resolution, mediation, and negotiation applicable to sports contexts, through practical dynamics and role-plays. - To develop a collaborative social media campaign against violence in sports, designed and disseminated by the participants during the exchange. - To encourage the exchange of ideas and perspectives among young people from different cultures, exploring the cultural roots of violence in sports and valuing cultural diversity. - To motivate young people to actively participate in the development and implementation of strategies to prevent sports-related violence in their local communities. - To increase the visibility of the Erasmus+ program and highlight the numerous opportunities it offers to young people.
