Objectives

The Young Digital Ambassadors project was designed to address the pressing need for digital literacy, critical thinking, and ethical online behavior among young Europeans in an increasingly complex digital landscape. The primary goal was to empower participants to navigate the digital world with confidence, responsibility, and resilience by tackling urgent issues such as cyberbullying, catfishing, online scams, the challenges of dating apps, and the ethical implications of artificial intelligence. The project aimed to create a generation of young people who could not only protect themselves online but also educate their peers and communities about digital safety. The core objectives included raising awareness about the risks and opportunities of digital communication, developing digital literacy and critical thinking skills so participants could recognize manipulative or harmful online behaviors, and promoting empathy, respectful interaction, and online well-being by addressing the human and emotional dimensions of digital communication. Additionally, the project sought to encourage creativity and intercultural learning through collaborative tasks, youth-led workshops, and the sharing of diverse perspectives on digital culture across Europe. Another key objective was to equip participants to act as peer educators and digital ambassadors by designing awareness campaigns, workshops, and social media initiatives to be implemented locally. The project also aimed to foster active citizenship and youth empowerment by encouraging participants to use digital platforms in constructive, ethical, and community-oriented ways. From a youth work perspective, the project emphasized non-formal, participatory, and experiential learning, giving young people the tools, space, and confidence to become responsible digital citizens and multipliers of positive change in their communities. These objectives were closely aligned with the Erasmus+ priorities of digital transformation, inclusion and diversity, and participation in democratic life, ensuring that the project contributed to broader European goals while addressing the specific needs of its participants.
