Young people are the key players who will shape the future of society. Protecting and supporting their mental health is the foundation for a healthier, more productive and more participatory society. Youth work is an important area that contributes to the personal and social development of young people, empowers them and enables them to raise their voices. Youth work plays a major role in reaching out to young people with mental health issues, supporting them and raising awareness. Peer support and training for young people will bring long-term positive results. Concrete measures must be taken to enable young people to cope with mental health issues, improve their mental resilience and raise awareness. With this project, we want to improve young people's knowledge and skills in relation to mental health, promote solidarity among them and combat stigmatisation. The main objective of our project is to support young people's mental health and contribute to a healthier and happier future. Our project plans to achieve the following objectives in order to realise this main objective: - To expand the knowledge of participating young people about the concept of mental health, its symptoms and common problems. - To reduce the social stigma surrounding mental health issues and promote open channels of communication. - To strengthen young people's ability to recognise, express and manage their own feelings. - Develop strategies for coping with stress, anxiety and difficulties and teach practical skills in this area. - To create solidarity and support networks among young people. - To provide information about reliable resources and support mechanisms for young people seeking help with mental health issues. - To develop young people's emotional expression through creative means such as art, music and theatre. - To emphasise the importance of physical activity, healthy eating and sleep habits for mental health. - To promote the exchange of experiences between young people from different countries and build an international network. - To create an intercultural learning environment by bringing together 42 young people from 5 countries. - To share the results of the project with youth workers and the public to achieve a broader impact. The project title ‘mentHEalTH’ is a combination of the words “mental” and ‘health’. It illustrates the close connection between mental and physical health and emphasises that holistic well-being can only be achieved by strengthening both areas.
