The Next-Gen Jobs: AI and the career of young people (Next-Gen Jobs) project seeks to address significant challenges faced by young people entering the labor market, particularly in the context of rapid digital transformation and the rise of artificial intelligence (AI). The ideea of this project come from a previous youth exchange (LEVERAGING AI AND DIGITAL TOOLS FOR EMPLOYMENT-2025-1-DE04-KA152-YOU-000298773) which we implemnted this summer and after which the young people who atended this project asked us to develop a folow up of this with more informations and oriented on two aspects: learning about diferent jobs which young people can try to get to develop a career in and second on learning more about job seeking, comunicating with a employer preparing an employment file/ portofolio which include cv motivation letter, presentation movie and other relevant documents using AI. At the same time when we have done the reserach about this project and the previous one we realised that youth unemployment it's a big problem. Acording with Unicef on average, 63 per cent of Roma aged 16–24 were not in employment, education or training (NEET) at the time of the MIDIS II survey, compared with an EU average NEET rate of 12 per cent for the same age group. (https://www.unicef.org/innocenti/media/8211/file/UNICEF-Innocenti-Roma-Children-Report-2024.pdf?utm_source=chatgpt.com) And if we speak about unemployment of young people in general in August 2025, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Germany was 6.3%, and the number of unemployed people was close to 3 million. much less comparing with Roma. In other countries the realities are the folowing: Romania youth unemployment rate was 26.3%(Eurostat figures for December 2024 - https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/databrowser/view/une_rt_m__custom_15787902/bookmark/table?lang=en&bookmarkId=b37bc562-2ac8-4905-b250-0fe51dd896a5&c=1741950444980), in Spain youth unemployment rate 25.2%(same source), in N Macedonia youth unemployment rate 25.3% (State Statistical Office for Q3 2024), in Grece youth unemployment rate 18.9% (https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/statistics-explained/images/e/e6/Extra_tables_Statistics_explained_01-09-25.xlsx) After discussing with the partners from previous project we agree to implement this project due to more reasons: - the interest and request of young people ( which was the most important for the partnership) - the employment data and realities from partner countries when we speak about young people in general and Roma young people in particular - the partners need to develop programs and activities which are important and useful for the young people they work with - the need to suport young people to face the big and fast changes on the labour market generated by the fast development and increased use of the AI and digital tools in all fields which makes the labour market being more and more a no border ecositem where even if you live in a non EU country due to remote work you can get a job in any place in the world. These realities highlight an urgent need to equip young people with practical tools and the right mindset to integrate into a constantly changing labor market. The aim of this project is to support young people to access easier the labour market at local, national and international level with help of AI. The project objectives are: For the first exchange: O1. To offer the possibility for 42 young people to find out more practical things about what are the characteristics of the jobs they can choose as a career in the future O2. To increase the knowledge of 42 young people about AI and how the future AI jobs will look O3. To capacitate 42 young people to be able to understand and see how they can use AI in diferent jobs For the second exchange: O1. To increase the knowledge of 42 young people about how they can use AI in finding a job O2. To develop the skilss of 42 young people in preparing the aplication materials(CV, motivation letter, online acounts, presentation movies)with support of AI or not O3. To develop the AI knowldege of 42 young participants in using AI to prepare for an interviev For booth activities: O4.To increase the face to face interaction between young people which help them understand and accept diversity and interculturality The needs which we want to adress with our project are: - youth unemployment which in most of the partner countries has a very high percentage and when we speak about Roma it's even bigger - lack of AI knowlkedge of young people, especially of the ones coming from disatvantage areas - the chalanges which young people have when they need to decide which it's the best job for them - the lack of comunication skills and knovledges when they need to face an interview - the lack of informations about diferent jobs on the market which to help them in deciding which will be their future career - the lack of knowledge of young people about how they can find jobs using AI easier
