Objectives

The Youth Embraces Digital Future project was created together with young people aged 15–24 from all partner organisations. During local youth group meetings and online discussions, they shared their experiences and concerns about issues such as online safety, cyberbullying, and the pressure of social media. Many felt they lacked the tools to deal with these challenges and wanted to take action, not only for themselves but also to support their peers. Our main goal is to empower young people to become active and responsible digital citizens. Through non-formal education activities, the project will help participants develop practical digital skills, such as protecting personal data, recognising misinformation, and managing their digital footprint. At the same time, it will create a safe space for them to reflect on their own online behaviour, discuss ethical dilemmas, and learn how to deal with situations like cyberbullying both from the perspective of the victim and the bystander. A key part of the project is active youth participation. Young people are not just attending the exchange; they are involved in every stage, from planning the workshops to leading some of the sessions and taking on roles like peer mentors, activity facilitators, or communication leaders. This helps them build confidence and leadership skills while ensuring the project truly reflects their needs and ideas. The project also connects directly to local youth work. After the exchange, participants will bring what they’ve learned back to their communities by running peer-to-peer workshops and digital awareness events in youth centres, schools, and local clubs. This way, the impact will continue long after the exchange and reach other young people who couldn’t take part directly. Ultimately, the project aims to build a network of young leaders who promote safe, respectful, and inclusive online spaces. By combining digital literacy, intercultural learning, and youth participation, it strengthens both the young people involved and the youth work practices of our organisations.
